Jasper is found in most parts of the world ranging in size from small beach pebbles to massive solid deposits. Jasper gets it red color from the oxides of iron in its crystal structure.

A strong protection gemstone, jasper is known to protect against hazards of the night, and it is also said to be a stone that helps in all areas of survival, Jasper is very lucky for actors and is one of the oldest known gemstones. It is mentioned in the Bible several times.

Jasper is a strong securing and stability gemstone. It is a powerful protection against things that are not good for you and it eases emotional stresses. Jasper is called a stone of fairness and justice because mystical lore claims that it decreases unjustness and helps in unfair situations. It is also said to enhance responsibility, choice, and compassion.

Jasper is purported to have a stabilizing effect, and help one take all one's energy and use it in a balanced manner. Jasper said in gemstone lore to be a stone of controlled passion and used to help control one's own passions.
