Chalcedony is a form of quartz that naturally comes in a variety of colors. For this gemstone beaded necklace we chose pale yellows to golden amber colored disks and transparent blues to deep sky blues. In between the smooth disks we placed sterling silver pyramids to give the necklace texture and contrasting detail. The chalcedony disks are tied to a double strung sterling silver chain.
It feels like you are wearing the colors of summer ....hot golden sun disks and cool blue ocean blues. This gemstone beaded necklace is a one of a kind design; don’t miss out on wearing a uniquely designed necklace.
The beaded necklace is approximately 24 inches long.
The name chalcedony is derived from Chalcedon, an ancient Greek city of Asia Minor. It is a variety of quartz that comes in many colors and patterns. It’s composed of microcrystalline quartz crystals and hydrated silica (opal). Chalcedony is an excellent stone for jewelry because it is durable and takes a good polish.
Chalcedony is generally formed near the surface of the earth where temperatures and pressures are relatively low.
Chalcedony is thought to bolster emotional balance and increase physical energy. It was once believed that those wearing this stone would be kinder, more charitable, and friendlier. It is said to relieve problems of the eyes, the gall bladder, bones, spleen, and the blood and circulatory system. It assists in healing open sores and aids lactation.
